Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services Transition Plan to remove structural barriers and achieve ADA compliance

Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services is committed to ensuring program access under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In an effort to identify and remove structural barriers, a self-assessment was conducted of all the field offices across the state. A transition plan has been created to prioritize and monitor barrier removal in order to fully comply with the 2010 ADA Standards of Accessible Design. IVRS welcomes input from the public. Comments and feedback may be sent to: Jeff Haight, 510 E 12th St, Des Moines, IA 50319 or via email at: Jeffrey.haight@iowa.gov.

Update: March, 2017

The Area Office ADA Transition Plan remains active. Jeff Haight will be communicating with Supervisors at the end of the federal fiscal year of 2017 to determine progress made on recommendations and any other time line concerns.  An end of the year report and progress update would then be available. This type of review is needed to ensure the local offices and landlords are tracking the transition plan issues.
