Referrals
Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) offers various employment options for all people with disabilities, including employment and training options for the young person with a special need. IVRS encourages parents and educators to refer students for services. IVRS serves both students in school and young or adult persons who have left the school system.
- An IVRS counselor is assigned to every high school in Iowa.
- A parent or student can contact IVRS directly for services.
- IVRS will work with a school team to help plan for a student's future.
IVRS serves individuals with a wide variety of significant disabilities.
Examples include:
- diabetes
- asthma
- learning disabilities
- hearing impairments
- mental illness
- spinal cord injuries
- developmental disabilities
- orthopedic disabilities
- other
